As the Nordics Risk & Compliance Expert, you are the accountable owner of payroll compliance across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, with formal statutory responsibility in Norway as the named Oppdragsansvarlig under the Norwegian Accountants Act (Regnskapsførerloven).
Requirements
- Hold personal statutory accountability for Norwegian payroll assignments.
- Embed Nordic legislation into product logic, systems, and governance frameworks.
- Translate complex legal requirements into scalable operational and technical design.
- Lead audits, investigations, and regulatory readiness across the region.
- Mentor and elevate compliance capability across the organisation.
work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Legal, and Operations to ensure compliance is architected into Remote's payroll platform — not layered on afterwards.This role blends deep subject-matter authority, regulatory accountability, and strategic systems thinking.
- Active Autorisert Regnskapsfører licence (mandatory)
You hold an active Norwegian State Authorised Accountant certification issued by Finanstilsynet. This is a strict prerequisite for the role. - Deep Norwegian payroll expertise, you have hands-on experience with:
- Influence how compliance is operationalised across the Nordics and beyond.
- Shape product logic and automation frameworks that scale globally.
- Build thought leadership through documentation, industry engagement, and conference participation.
- Develop future compliance leaders through structured coaching programs.
- Drive innovation in automation, rule-building, and AI-assisted compliance tooling

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
