Requirements
You'll work closely with a team of curriculum engineers, curriculum designers, and in-house subject-matter experts to build course materials focused on upskilling our employees and supporting new hire onboarding. You'll write learning video scripts, design hands-on labs, and deliver content, ensuring these MongoDB learning resources are relevant, interactive, and reflect the challenges our teams encounter in the real world.
In this role, we expect you to continually grow your knowledge of MongoDB and become an expert who knows a subset of MongoDB offerings in depth.
articulate the key concepts and skills that need to be covered in a training course, write course materials for an internal technical audience, design the hands-on exercises and also support the creation of skill badges that assess a learner's knowledge.

be able to add a lot of value to the team as we strive for our training to be from experts who already use our products. If you currently provide technical assistance or consulting for MongoDB solutions,
also be able to add value to this team. If you are new to MongoDB, you'll be expected to learn MongoDB products quickly and articulate how they work.

- Ideate and write skill-based course materials and videos
- Create code and visualizations to demonstrate technical concepts as you teach MongoDB
- Develop hands-on lab exercises to help learners experience MongoDB technologies
- Collaborate with in-house subject-matter experts, curriculum designers, video producers, product and enablement stakeholders to develop a course from discovery to launch
- Deliver instructor-led internal training such as onboarding sessions and in-house bootcamps when needed
- Use AI-assisted content generation tooling to accelerate first outlines and updates, while ensuring human-in-the-loop quality review and curriculum governance
- Become an expert on part of the MongoDB product set to help drive content strategy and direction along with our Product Strategy and Curriculum team
- Continually expand your domain knowledge of MongoDB, software development, and learning sciences
You're a good fit for this role if you have a demonstrable track record in working with MongoDB or similar technologies already as a developer, DBA or some other capacity with a minimum of 3-5 years industry experience. Your track record is more important than a Computer Science or similar degree.

As a Curriculum Engineer, we are counting on your experience to translate technical concepts to help others learn MongoDB.
A development role. Some prototyping is required however the emphasis is on content development, instruction, and subject matter expertise.
- Proven track record in working with databases, MongoDB or NoSQL experience preferred
- Experience writing and/or teaching instructional content (internal enablement or external training background is fine if you can pivot to internal outcomes)
- Proficiency in at least one contemporary programming language (Python, Node.js, Java, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Some cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- A passion for education and learning
